Small yellow croaker resembling a large yellow croaker but having a longer head, smaller eyes, larger scales, short tail and broad tail, and 5-6 rows of scales between the dorsal fin and the lateral line, golden yellow. Vertebra 28~30 pieces. Otoliths are larger. The body length is about 20 centimeters, and the longest length is 40cm. Body back gray brown, abdomen golden yellow. Mainly distributed in China's Bohai, the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea, the main producing areas in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong and other coastal provinces. Small yellow croaker widely distributed in the East China Sea, the Yellow Sea and Bohai, and the west coast of the Korean peninsula.
