  Hongtek's Carbon block filter element is made of anthracite, coconut, acid washed, or silver-impregnated activated carbon. Coconut shell carbon has a better filtration effect upon chemicals such as trihalomethanes. Standard CTO filter element is single open end. Various end cap style CTO filter elements are also available.
