The existence of Chilsunju was found in the records from King Jeongjo, the 22nd king of the Chosun Dynasty. From this, we can see that it has a long history of longer than 200 years. Today, Chilsunju is a royal valued product of the local Inchon area (formerly called Inju), that contains various oriental medicinal herbs such as ginseng, angelica root, and boxthorn. This beverage testifies to the wisdom of our ancestors, who deleted the effects of headache and hangover from alcohol and instead added the much benefits of health. Chilsunju gets its name from the seven medicinal herbs it contains. Immensely effective for headaches and nausea, it was well known to be a drink offered for the king and royals throughout history.
