Hunan Shenzhou Science & Technology Co.,Ltd. (Shenzhou) was established in June 2000,with registered capital of 20 million. Its main products are prismatic mold-cased nickel-hydrogen batteries for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and high performance cylindrical nickel hydrogen (Ni-MH) and nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries for military, civil, industry use. The technology roots in the professor of Wuhan University, postdoctoral returnee, former Toyota senior expert, Mr. Yifu Yang’s patent and proprietary technology.
In November 2007, Gongchuang Industrial Group capitalized 41 million yuan in Shenzhou with holding shares. Shenzhou is working as a leader in science and technology. With integrating of Shenzhen Nili Battery Co., Ltd., Yunji Battery Industrial Park in Hengyang, Hunan and Hunan Zhongda Gaoke Power Materials Co., Ltd., Shenzhou is to build an “aircraft carrier “of nickel metal hydrogen batteries.
During "10th Five-Year Plan" and "11th Five-Year Plan" period, Shenzhou obtained the national 863 project and 30 million yuan of local financial support for undertaking the key problem of “performance evaluation system of super-power Ni-MH power battery and its relevant materials ", “EQ6110 HEV high-power Ni-MH battery and battery management system of Hybrid Power City Transit” , and associated with numerous influential companies’ technology to promote and to expedite HEV industrialization process. Research and development results reached international advanced level. Meanwhile, Shenzhou is possessed of 113 acres of land at Yunji Battery Industrial Park for building a production base of daily capability of 600,000 pcs Ni-MH, Ni-Cd, lithium batteries.
