5.    Gold Maple Leaf

Canada Gold Maple Leaf

详细说明

寄出询问函

The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is a legal tender coin issued for the bullion investing public. The coins do not circulate, but only exist as a medium for the investor to own convenient forms of gold bullion. In theory, none of the coins have any collector premium in relation to each other, however some of the mintage figures reveal small quantities issued in some dates, therefore a small collector market has developed for those.

Each coin shows a maple leaf, with Queen Elizabeth on each. Stiff competition in recent years from other new gold coins has caused the popularity of the maple leaf to slip, however it still ranks among the top gold coins in the world in terms of price and liquidity. In 1983, the fineness of the maple leaf was changed from .999 fine to .9999 fine. Collectors and investors should not be concerned about this, as it only reflects better standards in the refining of the gold. However, due to popular demand, the .999 varieties have a parallel market where the buying and selling prices are lower than .9999 maples. The amount charged above the gold price increases as the size of the coin decreases. Coins that are not in their original sealed packaging, or which exhibit hairlines or signs of mishandling trade at lower prices.
