Santa Rita Mining Company was founded by Mr. Nassib Haddad in 1970. He began business activities in Sierras Blancas, Buenos Aires province, Argentina, with a small lime factory that supplied construction firms. The factory operated for 17 years until the company took a decisive turn, encouraged by the Mining Promotion Law, after which it started to work with heavy and quarry equipment.
The vision of its founder placed the company in advantageous position in prospecting mining services, by reverse air drillings, for the most important foreign investment projects developed in Argentina. It was a leader in the activity and had four working teams during the period of highest prospecting demand.
In 1998, Santa Rita Mining Company, already a Limited Corporation, bought the boric acid manufacturing plant, still active in Campo Quijano, Salta, Argentina, and enlarged it in order to double its production the following year.
Today, the company develops several lines of derivative products for specific applications, and has strengthened its position of leadership in the activity, with the acquisition of three new boronatrocalcite mines, which allow the company to guarantea the production for the coming ten years. |
